Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5am and had breakfast around 5:30. Hotel had continental breakfast ready at 5am because of the race. After that took a cab to race start my wife who is also running
Event warmup:

Walking around the start area and using the porta-potties at least 3 times.
Watched the marathon start as well.
Run
  • 1h 54m 31s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Started the run in the fifth corral with the 1:52 pace group. Despite the high HR felt excellent for the first 7-8 miles. Started feeling the effects of the pace after that and was able to hang on to the group a little pass 10 mile point. After that slowed down considerably and just limped in.
What would you do differently?:

Might have start slower.
Post race
Warm down:

Just stayed around the finish line walking back and forth and waiting my wife to finish(2:07:xx)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick couple days before the race and not enough mileage..

Event comments:

One of the best organized races I ever did.
