Swim
Comments: Well - I started out well but about 500 yards my heart rate was 181, had to grab the boats to bring it down - could not get in a good rhythm until the last 400 - got in a good stroke - was looking at 30 minutes so not bad overall What would you do differently?: Practiiiiiiiiiice - I swim so well in the pool - do some OWS practice Transition 1
Comments: I decided to walk some to bring down my heart rate, we did have some distance from the beach to the Transition area. What would you do differently?: Work on the swimming to lower the heart rate Bike
Comments: Great bike route - got up to an average of 17, a year ago I was at 15 so very pleased with the bike What would you do differently?: Work on longer rides of 40 to 60 miles Transition 2
Comments: Good time - for me - What would you do differently?: Work on getting my shoes on faster Run
Comments: My heart rate raced up to 175 in no time - started to run walk with 3 minutes run then walk to bring the heart rate down. I averaged 167 on the run. What would you do differently?: Practice more longer runs Post race
Warm down: Water, it was humid What limited your ability to perform faster: Swimming and Running - practice more. My goal for this race was 3 hours - missed but am pleased for doing my first OLY. Great prep work for the 1/2 iron in October. Event comments: Very good but we did not start on time - the sprint went first then the OLY. The Sprint was about 10 minutes late. They did have me in the wrong class but no big deal. Pleased with the swim and now I know what to really work on for the Longhorn. Last updated: 2007-12-28 12:00 AM

This was my first OLY. Really wanted to see how the swim in OW. Did the same - peanut butter on toast with a protein shack and then headed out
