Pre-race routine:

Get to the village pretty close to race start. Find parking on a side street (typical for this venue), get my number and try to stay dry and out of the rain. It's cold, wet and not nice out. I pin on my number, run a bit in a windbreaker, wait for the porta-potties.
Event warmup:

Warm up by running a little, sprint a couple times, do a clif shot. I found a place under a bench for my windbreaker, squeeze onto the side of the street. After pre-race instructions I simply can't hear, we're off.

Comments:

I guess the cooler weather favors me. I always thought I didn't mine the heat, but I really had a good race this night (PR!). I did start out fast, but didn't "die" later. I'd be interested to see splits, but felt consistent.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. My best running race so far.
Post race
Warm down:

Considering the light rain, not much. Socialize a bit. Grab a banana, wait for results and get to a warm, dry car and towel. Change clothes ASAP.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I guess nothing!

Event comments:

Another favorite local race. Nice to have some mid-week races instead of tying up weekends.
