The wooden bridges were SLICK with a layer of ice, some of the pavement had a couple of slickery spots, but overall not bad. No starting horn/gun/etc. I was chatting and the herd just suddenly took off in front of us.

good run, I didn't walk for more than a few seconds to get over icy patches and grab a cup of water.

Event comments:

It's a friendly, local run that benefits the park system.
People from all walks of life came out to enjoy a crisp day.
This, I can now say, was my last official event of the year.
