Pre-race routine:

Woke up on my own just before 4am. Layed on the couch and caught up on some Tivo while I had a Myoplex shake, peanut butter toast, a banana, and some team. Left the house at 6am to pick up and friend and headed down to the start.

Comments:

Ran with my training partner for most of the way. I left him around 22 miles. I was watching the clock and knew that I needed to pick it up a little to be sub-4hrs. I stopped to relieve myself once (around mile 9) which cost me about a minute or so and there was some congestion in some of the aid stations. Still, I'm real happy with finishing in 4 hours for my first time.
What would you do differently?:

I think I could've pushed it a little harder earlier. I was giving it what I had, but I think I could've mustered up a little more. Maybe. This was a good race for me.
Post race
Warm down:

Found my family and friends shortly after crossing the finish line and waited there for my training partner to finish (4:06.xx). Then I went through the post-race stuff, grabbing an Accelerade (only a few sips) and a popsicle.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The inexperience at running this distance. again, I'm darn happy wirh my results though.

Event comments:

Very well run event.

My wife ran the 1/2 in 1:49.15. AWESOME!!!!
