Comments: I knew this was going to hurt and did it ever!! I went out way too fast, then slowed down way too much but overall it ended nicely. There was only 1 water stop so I grabbed 2 cups because 1) only have 2 hands and 2) I was crazy thirsty. I'm glad I didn't puke. Here are the splits... Mile 1: 6:04, HR - 174 Mile 2: 6:56, HR - 180 Mile 3: 6:14, HR - 179 Last part: :40, HR - 183 Either the miles were off, marked wise, or I just really suck at pacing. However Most of Mile 2 was into a headwind so that could have helped with the slow down. What would you do differently?: Not spend the night before getting crazy drunk till 5am Post race
Warm down: ahhhh, sat around a bit. Then went to the car to get my sweatpants What limited your ability to perform faster: Alcohol Event comments: I only say there weren't enough drink stations because I wanted like 20 on this day! Well it was New Years so I was out partying till 5am, slept for a smidge over 3 hours, woke up pretty hungover but without an alarm which was amazing because I probably would have slept through the race otherwise.
My only "warm up" was jogging from my car to registration to see how I was feeling... awful is the answer.
