Swim
Comments: This was the most comfortable I have felt in a swim. Very pleased with navigation, rounding and drafting while I could. Finished swim feeling good and warmed up. Transition 1
Comments: Took time because of how the event was set-up. Needed to make sure everything was in bag because it was moved to T2. Did not run with bike or have shoes already clipped in. Did run because bike was in a field and with shoes on did not feel compfortable running on uneven ground. I have practiced this but the bike out area was narrow and felt it was a better play to be cautious with this. Had the correct gear picked out to start. Plus has made sure to eat and drink something. Transition 2
Comments: I did not rush myself Run
Comments: Time was slower than my first Oly tri but this course had 2 good climbs. I'm pleased with the run. What would you do differently?: Practice running hills more and strenthen middle / lower back because they cramped up. Post race
Warm down: Had recovery drinks and water, walked around, stretched, easy bike ride (2 miles) back to hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramping in middle / lower back during run. Event comments: Credit needs to begiven to event officials for even having it with the flooding that occured in Des Moines and having to move race. 4:49 seconds faster then my first Oly tri and on a more difficult course. I'm happy. Last updated: 2008-01-01 12:00 AM
