Pre-race routine:

Got up at 0430. Had two cups of coffee, a yogurt and a bagel. Drove in to catch the Metro. Drank an Accelerade on the way in.
Event warmup:

No chance for any warm up. The scene was chaotic. Almost missed the start as I couldn't get through the crowds to turn in my gear bag. But I made it and crossed the starting line about 9 minutes after the start.

Comments:

Just felt good. Was hoping for a sub 2 hour run. But was able to pull a 1:47. Strong finish.
What would you do differently?:

Arrive earlier and avoid the panic
Post race
Warm down:

Waited at the finish line for my boss to cross (two minutes later). Got a space blanket and water and made my way to my gear. It was cold and it didn't take long for sore muscles to appear.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A severe case of sciatica that has plauged me for the last month

Event comments:

This is my first half-marathon so I didn't know what to expect. Was kinda confused with all the people there. The streets were too tight and grid-lock occured right before the race. I never made it into my corral, but it didn't matter as the just launched everyone after the first two groups.
