Swim
Comments: I was a little disappointed with my swim. I thought I would have come out of the water a little sooner. I had a little navigation problem on the way in, but nothing to affect my position that much. What would you do differently?: Practice more Transition 1
Comments: Took my time. Put on a lot of sunscreen. Had a feeling it was going to be a long day. Bike
Comments: Felt great until mile 40 and never recovered. I was holding 20 21mph and then I just fell apart. I was struggling just to get back to transition. I think it was a combination of nutrition, heat and lack of training post IMAZ. What would you do differently?: Bike more Transition 2
Comments: Again, took my time. Put some more sunscreen and off I went... Run
Comments: Well - nothing much to say here. Felt like crap the whole time. I couldn't cool down, couldn't keep anything down, had to chew on ice chips and dump ice in the pants and under the hat. Did everything I could not to DNF. My worst run (well walk) ever. Just had nothing. Post race
Warm down: Sat at the finish area for 15 min and just had ice water dumped on me. Tried to cool my body down. Couldn't talk or breath that well. Went back to the hotel and sat in an ice bath for a half hour. Then got a little more sick...not good. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training post IMAZ. Nutrition - I really didn't compensate for the conditions, and the heat. Event comments: Volunteers were great. Can't say enough about them. I tried to thank everyone, but not really communicating well the last few miles. Last updated: 2008-01-02 12:00 AM

Normal. Had some coffee, oatmeal and then went down to the race site. Set up my transition area, checked the bike over and waited.
