Comments:

I'm a little tired from swimming 2,000 meters (for only the second time ever) yesterday. I am dieting and probably should eat more. It was very overcast but thankfully didn't rain. This course is just do damn tough because there are never-ending inclines and then super-stepp declines, and then at mile 7 is a MONSTER straight up long hill, a hill that's worse than the Cow Harbor hill - and the worst part is this hill is 7 miles into the race!
What would you do differently?:

I forgot to get gels. I had no gels =-( Next year I need to be lighter. At 172 I'm just too heavy to compete.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No taper. Weight. Would liked to have had my gels. I did not wear my lighter racing flats due to the weather. My flats have holes in the bottom and if I hit one puddle (it rained all night) I would've had soaking wet feet.

Event comments:

If you are ever on Long Island and want the most challenging 15k you'll ever run, sign up for the Kings Park 15k. Aside from running straight up a mountain, I can't imagine a more difficult course.

Course: Imagine a roller coaster. No really. There are more inclines and declines then flat areas. Every single runner that I have spoken with that has ran this race agrees: there is no tougher 15k around these parts.
