Comments: Felt pretty good the whole time except mile 5 as reflected by my split. Took the gel at mile 3 just like coach said. No problem with that. I wish I would have had more water. It was cold and I didn't want to stop to drink and I didn't want to spill water on myself. Coach ran me in the last .5 or so. That was a huge help. I also felt like i had too many clothes on. I got a little warm. all in all a PR for me, but now looking at the times etc I think I should have been able to go faster. Next time. What would you do differently?: More water--less clothes--not come out of the shoot so dang fast and tried harder to catch that last runner. Post race
Warm down: water, crackers, part of an energy bar, jog back to car, coffee, rice krispy treat, water, nap, stretch, What limited your ability to perform faster: my brain. Event comments: Good race...always is. No frills. $5 what can you expect. I love this race. Last updated: 2008-01-03 12:00 AM

Race later in day so a bit different I suppose. Still the usual egg sandwich, coffee, today I also had a couple of pancakes. Drank some water and diet coke. the diet coke is especially helpful. Ha
sunny, but also very windy..not sure what to wear. Picked up the kids to come race also.
Event cold up rather...peed in the woods, drank some water/gatorade, did the 5/10 minute warm up suggested by coach. Coach talked me through race plan at starting line.
