Pre-race routine:

We washed/lubed/tuned bikes and prepared/packed all our stuff the day before the race. Also we loaded the bikes and stuff in the car the night before the race.
We worke-up at 4:20 am. Took breakfast: OJ, a small bowl of macaroni & cheeese and our usual pack of multi-vitamins/minerals, Amino1000, Glucosamine and Q-10. I prepared my usual Soy-Protein Shake (chocolate)...and...took it with me in the car...
We left from home around 5:00 am...I did drink my shake at 5:15 am, 2 hours before the race. We got in the area at 6:00 am...but..we did our usual technical stop (bathrooms) in the Boca Raton Toll Plaza Area...got gas...and...got in the entrance of Tradewinds Park at 6:10 am...a very 2 long lines like usual...made us lost a lot of time...when fianlly we parked the car...we went fast to get our packages (timming ship/bid numbers/caps/t-shirts)...got body marked...placed our bikes in the rack and put the bid numbers in our bikes/helmets/belt...then put helmet and sunglasses oven the bike seat, the AeroDrink bottle in the braket in my AeroBars and the biking/running shoes under the bike in the grass with my hat/belt with bid number and a frozen bottle of water...then I put my timming ship in my left ankle, my wet-suit but only till my hips, got my googles/cap/wax ear plugs and my energy gel with water/accelerade...got out of transition area around 6:50 am. Went running to the Swimming Start area.
Event warmup:

In my way to the Swimming Start Area...I took my Energy Gel with water/accelerade...put the rest of my wet-suit in my upper body...streched my legs/arms...put my wax ear-plugs, the pink cap (I hate this color), my googles and jumped into the water...did swim maybe 100 mts...till they announced we had to get out of the water...
The first wave started in time at 7:00 am...My wave was the 3rd one (all the Females)...at 7:10 am
Swim
  • 08m 35s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 09s / 100 meters
Comments:

Just when we passed the line of the Swimming Start...I got in the left side...a good position...but in the last moment before we started, a young girl in her 20's decided to get in front of me, when there were enough space, why just in front of me???...I told her very nicely that she was bloking me and why don't move a little...she didn't care...she didn't faced me...very rude from her...I only told her: Ok!!! You will see...When the announcer said the signal: "GO"...man!!!...I almost jumped over her in her right side, I started to swim and kick very hard...that in one point I felt her hands in my toes...I passed and re-passed her...Yes!!!
when I finally I did't feel nobody behind me...I started to get my normal swimming pace till I found someone in front of me with a little fast pace...and...started to draf...It was an excellent swim.
What would you do differently?:

Continue with my swimming training...I'm getting better and better.
Transition 1
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

I know I could do better even I was using my wet-suit...I'm usually one of the fastes in my Age Group...My wet-suit got stuck in the left foot...Grrrr!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Practice more removing the wet-suit...
Bike
  • 32m 8s
  • 10 miles
  • 18.67 mile/hr
Comments:

The only problem that I had just when I got out the transition area and I started to pedal...my chain came out and get stuck...Damn!!!!...It took me at least a very valuable 3 minutes to fix it...my hands were completly blacks...but in general was an excellent bike ride...I try to do the best that I could to recover my time.
It was a very fast bike course (2 laps) with only one U-Turn...
What would you do differently?:

To check the bike before going to the swimming...but...I was sure that it was Ok when I placed my bike in the rack...maybe people from the first waves that were next to my bike and when they took out their bikes from the rack, touched my gearshifts by accident...it's the only way that could happen...
Because, I remember that my chain was in the front big ring...and just when I started to pedal it jumped very abruptly to the small ring and came out...
Transition 2
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

I did an excellent and fast change of bikiing to running shoes...took my hat/belt with bid number and my bottle of water...ran out of the transition area and at the same time buckling my belt, putting my hat and with my bottle of water in my right hand...
I'm usually one of the fastest in my Age Group...I was 3rd this time.
What would you do differently?:

Practice and practice...
Run
  • 19m 52s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 07m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

Just when I got out the transition area...I tossed cold water from my bottle over my head...brrrr!!! It was cold!!! it was like an electro-shock...Wake-up!!! and did drink the rest till it was empty and dumped it.
I did the best run I could because I knew that I needed to recover the time lost fixing my bike chain...I'm usually one the fastest in my Age Group...I was the 2nd fastest this time...Yes!!!.

What would you do differently?:

Continue with my train...
Post race
Warm down:

Just when I passed the finish line...walked and walked, streching my legs till I felt recovered...did drink water and ate some pieces of oranges and bagel...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The problem with my bike chain...

Event comments:

It took to long to start the Award Ceremony...They are usually fast.
I was awarded 3rd place according with posted results at the Race...but...apparently...the real Female Overal winner was DQ...but...when almost everybody left from the race included us and all the women in my Age Group and the Female Overall and Female Master Overall...they changed the results...and that changed all the results...the 3rd one Female Overall passed to 1st place Female Master Overal and the 3rd one Female Master Overall passed to 1st place in our Age Group...What a mess!!! What happened??? I don't know!!!! but for sure the winner complained and finally she got it...and by the consequences:
I got 4th place.
