Swim
Comments: It was kind of strange sharing a pool with so many people. I did get passed by a few people but not too many. I felt good throughout the swim. I have been awful about getting in the pool lately so I was nervous about how I would do. I never got really tired and I just took it really easy. What would you do differently?: swim more. I just haven't been motivated at all lately. Transition 1
Comments: my transition times were really slow. It's something I really need to practice. What would you do differently?: practice, practice, practice. Bike
Comments: this was a far better experience than the bike course at Hickory Knob. If you're going to do a tri with very little training this one is great. What would you do differently?: ride more. Transition 2
Comments: this transition was crazy slow. I did the dumbest newbie thing, I racked my bike and then realized all the other bikes were racked in the other direction so I reracked my bike! Really dumb right? Then the tongue of my running shoe got all stuck down in my shoe and I had to deal with that. What would you do differently?: I don't think I even need to say, do I? Run
Comments: By this time it had gotten very sunny and a little windy. My legs were really feeling spongey after the bike but I just took deep breaths and waited for the crazy leg feeling to go away. I felt pretty good about the run. I didn't do any brick runs prior to this event and considering that I'm pleased with my run. What would you do differently?: i think I could have pushed a little harder on the run. I knew I was going to blow on the ride and the swim so this would have been where I made up some time, but this was just a fun event for me and I wasn't trying to break any records here. Post race
Warm down: walked around, found my friends and hubby and got my things together. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training. Event comments: I really loved this course. I just love the water and the ocean smells and all the marines training and chanting in the background were pretty cool to. I definitely plan on doing this race again. It was fun hanging out with all the Augusta BTers. Also, this was my my hubby's first tri ever (flyingtiger) and I'm so proud of him. He did awesome and so did his training partner, Steve(BlueJack). You guys are going to rock at IMFL! Last updated: 2008-01-03 12:00 AM

Got in town around 3 on Friday so we checked into the hotel, rested a bit, went to get our race packets and out to dinner with the other Augusta BTers. I think I was in bed by 10 or so. We woke up at 6:30, ate some breakfast down in the hotel lobby(sausage biscuits and danish) and had some coffee and oj. Got to the race site about 7:30 and got my transition area ready and body markings. My swim start was still hours away (10:40 or so) so we had lots of time to hang out. Watched Jim and Amy swim and cheered them on with Nola. Nola made these really cute signs for them. Then we cheered Steve on. Ate some more food after that (a banana and PB sandwich) and then it was time to warm up.
wam some laps in the pool and LOTS of walking around while waiting to get started.
