Pre-race routine:

Woke up a litle late and was debating if I should even race. Ended up eating a slice f pizza and grabbing some coffee. Not the best pre-race breakfast but it was readily available from last night.
Event warmup:

Parked at 74 St at the Boat House. Hit the bathroom and realized it was 8:58 so I ran to 68 St at a pretty good pace. Again, all signe point to tough day.

Went out a bit too hard and blew up right after mile 2. Mile 3 had the hills but I was bles to hold a somewhat staedy pace, just NO kick at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Ease back a bit. I started with the 7 minute milers and I think I got carried away. Also its an early season race and I am happy where I am at so far.

None, An apple, a bite of a bagel and some gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Pizza for breakfast.

Event comments:

NYRR always puts on a great race. Also finished 3rd among the 19 NYPD guys that raced.
