Comments:

started off in the B stage so getting out and into pace speed was not a problem, I wanted to start a little slower and try to hold pace and pick it up if I felt good after 3-5 miles. My garmin was pinging off way before the mile markers, so I wasn't sure what was right. My garmin had me at 6:50 1st mile and the 1 mile marker had me at 7:10, so either I was right on target or way to fast. I just held pace, the garmin consitantly showed miles before the markers and when all was said and done it showed the race at 13.35 miles, I had 6 other people with Garmins say the same thing, so I don't know if it was long or if the garmins were all off. I ran the way I wanted too up until mile 11, there my legs felt tight and I slowed a bit with a 7:24 and mile 12 7:33, but I gutted out the last mile to stay under 1:35. I think I could have pushed harder my threshold is around HR 158 and my average heart rate was 152 but I just didn't feel like I had it all day. I enjoyed the run and the weather was great overall I was pleased with my performance as long as I keep improving I'm happy.
What would you do differently?:

Put in more longer runs, only did 2- runs over 10 miles, a lot of 8 miles runs but not enough 10+ and it showed at mile 10.5. Also pushed a little hard just to where it get me out of my confort zone
Post race
Warm down:

walked a lot, used the stick on my thighs since they were locking up then went to see my wife finished she did this race only running 2 miles for the entire year and still finished under 3 hours she had never ran past 4 miles in here life, I was so proud of her.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of long runs and not enough guts to push myself even though I did not feel good

Event comments:

Great race plenty of excitement and several friends just a good time and fun run.
