Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:30 and was out by 5:45. Ate up some oatmeal, banana, cheerio's, PB, and soy milk around 6:20 while driving. Got to the race site at 7:15, picked up my packet, chip, and headed to TA. Managed to get chewed out by a referee for cutting my number and putting it on my top tube! Barely made it out of TA by 8.
Event warmup:

Found some stationary trainers inside and warmed up on the bike for 15 minutes. Downed a GU and topped off with some GA. Hit the 2ndary pool for a 250 warm up. Stretched and jumped in line.
Swim
  • 10m 30s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 06s / 100 yards
Comments:

Bad swim. Goggles came lose and I couldn't see anything..the wall, the lanes, the finish. All I saw was water in my eyes!
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster, upgrade goggles.
Transition 1
  • 00m 55s
Comments:

Good transition except for clipping in. Couldn't get clipped and wasted a few seconds trying.
What would you do differently?:

Clip in quicker
Bike
  • 37m 20s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 20.09 mile/hr
Comments:

They changed the bike course the morning of. It felt longer than 12.5, more like 13-13.5. Who knows? Need to hit the hills and do a few squats to push bigger gears.
What would you do differently?:

See above
Transition 2
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

Dropped my helmet and managed to kick it to my TA while running with my bike, I thought it was quite an impressive feat!
What would you do differently?:

Not play soccer with my helmet.
Run
  • 18m 35s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 05m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run, feel like I can run sub 18 at white lake. Maybe I can find a course with no stop on a dime turnarounds.
What would you do differently?:

Not miss the turn for the finish (at the same spot as the 1-2 lap turnaround). Prob costed me 3 secs.
Post race
Warm down:

Hit up the inside trainers again since I was freezing (hail, wind, and rain). Did 10-12 minutes easy and drank some Endurox, then stretched. Got a hot, refreshing shower (which was very nice) at the aquatic center!!! WOOOHOOOO:)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor swimming.

Event comments:

Almost got hit by a car (because a cop directing traffic decided to have a friendly conversation with someone in another car). Good amount of traffic out on the roads.
