Run
Comments: It was pretty brutal. I went anaerobic pretty much the whole time. My game plan worked out for me, which was to put a little time in the bank over miles 1 and 2 b/c the middle part of the course was going to be tough. I actually came within 2 seconds of my predicted time. The course had more hills than I remember. We (Colonial) also won the corportate division which was great ~ 3 years standing! Team photo below (most of us at least). I'm shocked at how incredibly sore I was the day after the race. It tells me that 1) I need to do some race pace running during training (duh) 2) I'm not as run-fit as I need to be or thought I was 3) I have a lot of untapped speed that I need to tap into. Next year it's sub 40! What would you do differently?: Do some race-pace running prior to the race. Post race
Warm down: Gatorade, .5 mile run, pizza What limited your ability to perform faster: No speed work or even 10k pace running. Feb is the the pre-season so I've been doing all base runs. Event comments: Great race. I shaved almost 6 minutes off last year's time and can't wait to do it again next year and see how I've improved! Last updated: 2008-01-11 12:00 AM
