Event warmup:

None. Walk around.
Swim
  • 16m 10s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was cold but I decided to not wear the wetsuit because I wasn't very good at taking it off. I felt I could handle the cold water. It did take my breathe away for the first minute but then I was numb and felt fine.
What would you do differently?:

Start in front. If the water is warm. I am a pretty good swimmer and I kept dogging people. I think next year I will get a wet suit and practice taking it off so I feel more confident that it will not slow me down.
Transition 1
  • 03m 42s
Comments:

No problems except my GU fell of somewhere and I only had the one:(
What would you do differently?:

Make sure to have at least 2 Gu & put one in my pocket!

  • 15 miles
  • 15.83 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

I need to practice Hills!!
Transition 2
  • 01m 34s
What would you do differently?:

Stretch more while taking my shoes off.
Run
  • 43m 30s
  • 4 miles
  • 10m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

I was cramping really bad on my left leg and had to stop numerous times to stretch and just walk. The first water station only had water and usually some gatorade will help with the cramping I had. At the 2mile turnaround they had gatorade and a girl - Tina I met on the bike caught up to me and we ran together. It helped me stop thinking about my leg. Then I got into my running grove and did well the rest of the way.
What would you do differently?:

More Gu. Need to pratice my Brick Workouts. My legs didn't feel heavy just really tight.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch and walked around. I have one of those Massage roller stick and tried to roll out some of my soreness.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The cold water and not eating enough Gu, Gatorade. Which could be why I cramped.

Event comments:

It was a fun race. I did beat my time from last year Oct. (even with the <.5mile swim). The bike I felt really strong but I know I can still improve and the Run I definately can improve. Next time I definately will be under the 2hour mark!!!
