Event warmup:

Got transition ready then took a quick swim in the lake.
Swim
  • 13m 43s
  • 586 yards
  • 02m 20s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was a goos swim for me, but a bit slower than i woudl want. However, i did finally swim the swim leg and not gasp my way through it. I want to be faster but i am just not sure how to be....The feild was crowded which made it tougher to around the bouy.
What would you do differently?:

swim faster
Transition 1
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

THis transition was tough becasue there was a knarly hill into T that we had to run up. And it was long too. Otherwise i spent a few extra seconds trying to make sure i had everything and to catch my breath.
What would you do differently?:

run faster
Bike
  • 1h 08m 18s
  • 18 miles
  • 15.81 mile/hr
Comments:

Well i thought i was going faster than i actually did. My bike computer was not reading correctly. So i was not as fast as i wanted it to be and as i thought it was. But overall i feel like i did well on this course.
What would you do differently?:

go faster...
Transition 2
  • 01m 55s
Comments:

this was a long run from the dismount line to the rack.
Run
  • 31m 25s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 06s  min/mile
Comments:

Kept a fuel belt botle of accelerade with me, which was perfect. This run was tough for me, my right ham string was cramping onme, and i knoew that would happen. It has been bothering me for a couple of weeks. I found myslef walking more than i would have liked, but i fininshed strong.
What would you do differently?:

run more...
Post race
Warm down:

walked around and visited with people

What limited your ability to perform faster:

i am not really sure how to answer this. I have been training a lot the last few weeks but still i was slow for this race. I cant seem to find race day energy to catapult me into overdrive and get faster.
Although i will say that this is the first race where i finally felt like a real triathlete and not a newby trying to survive. :) Now, just need to be a fast triathlete.

Event comments:

This race was great, very well suported and lots of volunteers. The iron girl org puts on an awesome race!
