Overall Rank = 76/200

Age Group Rank = 9/18
Pre-race routine:

Just trying to stay relaxed. Set up my transition, and got my family set up to watch. I don't get too nervous when my wife and kids are there. They make me feel relaxed.
Event warmup:

Only warm up was a quick practice swim.
Swim
  • 16m 25s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

Best personal swim. This was my first open water swim using ear plugs. I have been having trouble with feeling dizzy coming out of the water. The ear plugs definitely helped.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I swam very well for my skill level and fitness.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

I forgot to unstrap my cycling shoes, so that delayed me a little. I also had a problem with my front wheel. My skewer on my front wheel was undone when I took it off of the rack. I am lucky I heard it loose when I unracked my bike.
What would you do differently?:

I need tri specific shoes.
Bike
  • 39m 16s
  • 14.29 miles
  • 21.84 mile/hr
Comments:

My bike went well except when I dropped my water bottle about 2 miles into the ride. I had cotton mouth big time when I got to the transition.
What would you do differently?:

Not drop my water bottle. If any of you were behind me when I dropped it I am very sorry.
Transition 2
  • 00m 55s
Comments:

Not much to say.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 24m 57s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

I ran right past the first aid station which was right out of the transition. This was a crucial mistake since I had not drank any water since mile 2 on the bike. WTF? I did not get water until the 1.5 mile turnaround. Not too bad of a run. I think I could have done a little better if I had some water.
What would you do differently?:

Not drop my water on the bike and then run past the first aid station on the run. I think I could still push a little harder on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Eating.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Dehydration.

Event comments:

I had a good time at this race. I wish there was some activities for my family to do at the races. The atmosphere was the best I have attended so far. Good race.
