Swim
Comments: Definitly need swim lessons - work entirely too hard in the pool!! What would you do differently?: Started out too fast - tried to stay calm, but guy swimming next to me was moving at a pretty good clip and tried to keep pace. I even let him go first as to not be tempted, but it didn't work. Swim my own pace! Transition 1
Comments: Put shoes/socks on first - need a transition mat - rain caused my towel and socks to already be damp when I put them on. What would you do differently?: Be a little smoother with the helmet - couldn't get the damn thing snapped for the life of me! Bike
Comments: Biking is probably my strongest of the three disciplines - while I have a lot of improving to do, I still feel comfortable when I get on the bike. What would you do differently?: Work on gear changing strategy coming to hills.................could be a little smoother there. Other than that, it's building strength/endurance. Transition 2
Comments: Just o.k. Run
Comments: Felt the best I have coming off the bike, but didn't want to push the run from the start - hindsight being 20/20, I probably could have got away with it. Last 1.5 felt pretty good - struggled with HR control first mile, but settled in after that. What would you do differently?: Push the run a little more in the first mi..............control HR coming off the bike. Post race
Warm down: Walked around with family and friends - met some new friends - had a couple oranges and Gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: EXPERIENCE! Event comments: This triathlon was the first in Tremont since the 90's. Gene Pflederer did an excellant job organizing the event and it was a HUGE success. Hope to see it grow more next year - think the rain scared a few folks off. Last updated: 2008-01-17 12:00 AM
