Swim
Comments: this is the coldest extended swim that I have ever experienced. I wore a neoprene cap to protect my brain. Transition 1
Comments: This was just funny. My hands and feet were numb and I tried to put on arm warmers, gloves and socks. Yes, gloves and socks. I was that cold. Anyway, I gave up about 2 minutes and 10 spots just doing that. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I couldn't think straight/be held responsible for my transition actions. Bike
Transition 2
Run
Comments: my feet became unumb at about mile five. Post race
Warm down: ate tons of pizza. Event comments: This was a great race. It had tons of pros and elites. It is the classiest race that I have ever been to and would do it again in a heartbeat even though it was bone chilling cold. Last updated: 2008-01-22 12:00 AM

I am not from Utah and I did this race with a friend who is starting to get into triathlon. I knew nothing about Utah before going there. Here is what I know now: 1) I love Utah--people are great, it's beautiful, etc., I would move there in a minute; 2) it is cold at sheeeatt in Utah in the morning, even in the summer.
My God was it cold. The thermometer in the truck on the way to the race site said 37.
