Run
Comments: I certianly wasn't trained to do 13.1 miles, but was stubborn enough to run the whole thing. As this was my first Half-Mary, and my training had been derailed due to a death in my family, my only goals were to finish and have fun. We ran for brain cancer and I really enjoyed running for a cause that meant something to me. At about mile 11 my legs seemed to seize up and my jog turned into a waddle, and regardless of my desire, I couldn't shake it out so I resolved to continue to plod along and just finish. One of our team mates caught up to me and was able to help me through the last little bit (thanks Steve!). It's amazing what a friendly face and some encouraging words can do to get you through the pain. What would you do differently?: Train, Train, Train, and have my Ipod - I needed some ACDC to get me through those last few miles. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched, and drank a lot of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of Training Event comments: The course difficulty was perfect for my ability, the length was just about 3 miles too long. Watch out next year, I'll be better prepared! Last updated: 2008-01-22 12:00 AM

We were there with a big group The B-Team (www.firstgiving.com/thebteam), so we coordinated a meet-up and all hung around eating bananas and drinking our coffee.
It was cold so I streched for a bit then stripped down to my shorts and t-shirt, then we jogged over to the start line. Not a lot of warm-up, but it seemed to work pretty well.
