Pre-race routine:

Tough coordination with the kids. My normal bagel with PB and coffee 3 hours before did not happen until 1 hour prior. Then we had to race to the school to get our house guest registered at the last minute. All in all I was to the start 15 minutes before the gun and things went fine. It was a good test of combining your routines with real life disctractions.

Comments:

As normal I started off too fast. I ended up in the front of the start and got sucked into a group of 5:30 runners for the first 3/4 mile.
What would you do differently?:

Start off at MY pace.

Too fast of a start

Event comments:

My goal was to get a sub 20:00 and I ended up missing it by 47 seconds. I feel that I easily could have shaved 16 seconds/mile off my pace had I not sprinted like a mad man out of the gate. Overall I was happy ... if you hit your goals everytime they are not really goals and just milestones.
