Pre-race routine:

I woke up at 4:45am. Room service was late with breakfast. I had oatmeal with strawberries and raisins. I drank two bottles of water. I headed to the start line at 6:30.
Event warmup:

No real warmup. I usually never warmup for a long run. I planned on using the first 1.5-2 miles as a warmup

Comments:

I ran negative splits and ran the entire course. The first water station I stopped at I tried to run and drink but that did not work. I stopped at every other water station and drank water before beginning to run again. I had a strawberry banana gu at mile 5 and at mile 9.5. I was able to sprint the last couple of yards to the finish line. It was a great first half-marathon!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around alot. I did not sit just kept moving. I have never run more than 10 miles at one time until the race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I would say experience. I would also say I need to work on my core strength and stretching along with more speedwork.

Event comments:

I really enjoyed the race. I would also like to thank all of the great spectators. It is so cool to have people yelling your name as you are crossing the finish line even if you are not the winner! I will definitely do this race again!
