![]() Run
Comments: The first few miles hurt. Can tell that I didn't rest at all prior to this race. Did the normal training week prior. Rode hard on Thursday and was just kinda doing this race to see what I could do in a mild state of fatigue. My HR avg was 168 which is a few beats below what I can normally sustain for about an hour. After the initial seeding into the trail I wasn't passed by anyone. Managed to speed up on the second half and pick off a couple of people. Going into the finish I could tell the guy behind me was trying a last minute surge. Held him off to the line, but once again it hurt. What would you do differently?: Not a thing for a training run. If it were more important I'd put less miles in during the week and no long hard efforts on the bike. So overall I'm happy. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Ran back out to come in with Meg. Total of a 2 mile cooldown. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Ran as I wanted to with little expectations Event comments: Pikes Peak Roadrunners always puts on a good race. Great group of people. Search and Rescue was out as usual with their normal group of volunteers. Lucky to have this group around. Last updated: 2008-01-26 12:00 AM

Got up early as usual. Did the same old morning race routine. Some coffee, some cereal, and that's pretty much it.
1 mile warmup. Ran at about 7 minute pace.
