Comments: I was wearing my long sleeve shirt with the race shirt on top of it....with my hoodie and a rain jacket on top of that. Probably too many layers but I like to sweat it out when I work out. My feet were definitely soaked the entire time which was not fun but I made it through. I need a new pair of good shoes for sure...the ones I have are not cutting it. What would you do differently?: I would have stretched a little more and I think that I would have taken a faster pace if I knew how short the course was really going to be. I think I would have left in an earlier wave too since the people I left with were pretty slow and I had to weave in and out and around them to get through. Post race
Warm down: just walked around for 10 or 15 minutes and had a bottle of water. I really wasn't that tired when I got done and didn't need too much of a cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: Shoes...rain, wind and cold...but what can you do?? Ate a little bit before leaving the house. Apple, oatmeal and toast with peanut butter. Stretched a tiny bit when I got there but not too much. Maybe should have stretched a little more but it was just so nasty out that I didn't really feel like it.
