Swim
What would you do differently?: Now that I look back, I guess I could have gone a little harder. I guess I didn't know what to expect and just treated it like it was another one of my workouts. Because of the fact that I really didn't get tired, I think that I definitely should have gone a little harder and I might have gotten myself an extra 45 seconds to a minute. Transition 1
Comments: Well, T1 ended up being really slow and a lot of the people that I passed on the swim ended up transitioning faster and moving out much quicker than me. I was slow due to the fact that I had to sit down and put on my shoes and socks...put all my crap in the bag...and then run with my bike to the course start. I dunno...definitely gotta work on transitions and plan a little better. What would you do differently?: definitely plan better and look into getting bike shoes eventually. A transition mat would be nice too. :D Bike
Comments: Wow!! crazy course.....I'm looking forward to doing a regular tri where the course is mostly flat...curious to see how I would perform on a course like that. The bike today was fun because I ended up passing a bunch of people who were on thier really expensive bikes and tri team jerseys. I mean, they could have been on their last lap and me on my first ....maybe...but still...still makes you feel pretty good. LOL. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my climbing skills for sure...I did pretty well at it i guess but not as well as i could. Transition 2
Comments: Transition went pretty well...mainly cause I rode me bike in my running shoes so I didn't have to worry about switching out shoes.....took me a sec to find a spot for my bike but not too long. Gave my legs a tiny little stretch and then took off....overall went pretty smooth. What would you do differently?: have a gel or something on hand....that would've been nice but I didn't have any pockets to keep one. Maybe look into getting a jersey or a tri suit soon. Run
What would you do differently?: I think given the shortness of the run, I could've probably gone a little faster than I did. I had never run the course so I really didn't know what to expect or even where I was on the course. I think that if I would've come and run the course...I could have planned better and could have pushed out the last mile or so and shaved a couple of minutes off. Post race
Warm down: Just did a nice walk to go and meet Faeron and Yanti and then more walking bac to the expo. Didn't really do too much cool dosn this time...but I didn't really feel like I needed it at the time. What limited your ability to perform faster: ignorance, being my first race Event comments: Overall I thought this was a good race...I'd probably do it again. It'll be fun to see my improvement by this time next year. I should be in a lot better shape and I'm hoping to shave a good 20 to 25 minutes off next time. Last updated: 2008-01-28 12:00 AM

I parked my bike on the opposite side of campus so that i could ride my bike in and get a mini bike warm up. I ate oatmeal and peanut butter toast for breakfast. mmmm. :D
I did 300 meters in the warm up pool to just ind of get myself going for the swim portion. That's pretty much all i did to warm up today.
