Overall Rank = 67/217

Age Group Rank = 3/6
Pre-race routine:

Got there early, got transition ready and had to put new yankz on my shoes. Got in the water a bit but nothing else.
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 06m 21s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 26s / 100 yards
Comments:

To many people who couldn't swim got in front of me and slowed me down. For this race I need to be starting in the front row. Had to elbow a few people who tried cutting me off. Got my legs caught on the chain as I rounded the buoy and cut the crap out of them. Once we got around that buoy I found some feet and drafted, then passed, then drafted and then passed. Had a good finish to the race. Tide was low so seaweed was out in full force.
What would you do differently?:

Start up front.
Transition 1
  • 00m 55s
Comments:

Good T1. Got out and couldn't get my left foot clipped into the pedal so that slowed me down. Otherwise a good T1.
What would you do differently?:

None
Bike
  • 46m 22s
  • 15 miles
  • 19.41 mile/hr
Comments:

Not a good bike for me at all. Just never felt like I could get any power into it. Never felt like I had a tailwind. When I took my bike out of transition after the race the front brake was rubbing, but didn't feel like that during the race. That would be very disappointing if that was the case.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know!
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

Yankz are GOD. Was so much easier. Racked bike, took helment off, put socks on and slipped into shoes, grabbed visor and race belt and I was off.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, really great T2 for me.
Run
  • 24m 27s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran the first mile in 7:30 and was right on pace. Felt good the entire race and never felt like I let up. It was hot, but I'm not sure what happened to my time here. Wanted to be at about 7:30
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, training will continue to help
Post race
Warm down:

Drink lots!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure!

Event comments:

I love this race, but the post-race crap before the awards ceromony are just boring and I don't need to wait around in the heat. Do that crap before everyone is finished if you want to do a push-up challenge.
