Run
Comments: ICK that was BAD...it should have been a 12K swim it was so freaking HUMID. 80-90 degrees with 85% humidity. PLUS I only did this race because Lilia and John wanted to do it...Lilia was a no show and John brought a friend (OK they are both HOT so it was kind of OK) and they only ran 2 miles then turned around and went back. Mentally not into this race. It was UGLY hot and UGLIER humid. By 3 miles I was so soaked in sweat it was dripping off my ponytail onto my legs. By mile 4 I didn't care if I finished or not. By mile 5 I gave up and took my shirt off because it was so heavy with sweat and ran i nmy sports bra. I was pretty much miserable all around so I just kept telling myself it was good mental training for St. Anthony's. What would you do differently?: Not race when I am mentally not into it regardless of who else is doing the race. Run in a sports bra from the start when its that freaking HOT and humid. Drink more. I'm very very dehydrated now and I feel like crap Post race
Warm down: walk 1/2 mile to bus, ride bus back to start. walk 1/2 mile to car. What limited your ability to perform faster: HEAT AND HUMIDITY. I mean I know I live in FL but the humidity jumped up 30% this weekend. Event comments: Oh yeah they started the race LATE because 75% of the race participants were in line for the porta potties so they had to wait for everyone to PEE before they would start. WTF?
