Overall Rank = 59/248
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 4/10
Pre-race routine:

Went to bed at 12am got up at 4:22am. Had a protein shake w/peanut butter and a bagel for breakfast.
Event warmup:

Just some light stretching while waiting for the start.
Swim
  • 04m 12s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had to literally come to a stop twice as I caught up to two people in front of me who were trying to pass each other with someone coming directly at me on the other half of the lane.
What would you do differently?:

Seed myself better for the start.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

T1 was awful for me. Ran past my bike, couldn't get socks on, top heal part of my bike shoes folded in and I couldn't get it out. Ended up riding with bunched up socks and that part of my shoe still folded in towards the back of my ankle.
What would you do differently?:

More practice. Showed up late and didn't have a lot of time to set up my transition area. I did well in transition last season and I guess I was a little over confident on this one.
Bike
  • 36m 53s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 17.08 mile/hr
Comments:

I have a sinus infection and the bike really brought that fact to my attention. Felt like I had a lump in my throat, only was able to get a couple sips of liquid in. The first loop I felt like I was going to puke, the second loop was better but still couldn't drink.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, I feel I did my best considering the circumstances.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Very average transition, had trouble tying my shoes, forgot to buy a race number belt. Ran out of T2 with my bike helmet on still, HA!
What would you do differently?:

Buy some Yankz and a race number belt.
Run
  • 25m 9s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Tried to pin my number on while running, due to the lack of number belt. Finally got it but had to stop to get the second pin in. Decent pace for me, felt like I was going slower than I actually was.
What would you do differently?:

Not much besides the race number belt. Hopefully next race I won't be sick and be able to hydrate better.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank a couple bottles of water had a bagel and a banana.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sinus infection/lack of sleep/under hydrated/congestion in the pool/poor transitions

Event comments:

Overall good race. Lots of volunteers, beautiful area, great people and a lot of fun.
