Swim
Comments: fast swim, short swim. however the self-seeding meant a lot of crowding out on the course as people seeding themselves in the 9 mins and under group and were nowhere near that pace. What would you do differently?: break 10mins in the 400 so i can seed myself higher. Transition 1
Comments: slow transition times, but it was my first! What would you do differently?: go without bike jersey. not needed. but liked having it to hold gel pack and empty cups on run. Bike
Comments: got passed a lot. need to work on the bike, speeding up some. Transition 2
Comments: fell a bit getting off bike. did not hit ground but pulled/twisted left elbow, nastied up leg on chain. What would you do differently?: could not get race belt clipped!!! Run
Comments: good but slowed way down; first mile was around 10 minute pace. Post race
Warm down: packed up everything and walked to car with bike and family about half a mile. What limited your ability to perform faster: more training. but overall, this was really good as it was my first tri and I just wanted to finish and not walk. Event comments: Excellent choice for a beginner. Newbie clinic at packet pick-up the day before. LOTS of help setting up in transition area. Very well run. Tons of volunteers on the course, especially the bike course. Loved this race! Last updated: 2008-02-15 12:00 AM

rode to transition; set up area; got marked; stood in line for chip. Found friends, chatted, stretched.
stood around in the cold morning air on sandy tiers of quarry hill. held time sign (10-13 mins) for self seeding for time trial start of swim.
