Pre-race routine:

Had breakfast of waffles with Peanut butter on them and a coffee from starbucks. Warmed up with ray and did dynamic stretching and a run up the hill.

Event warmup:

Rode a quick one on the bike.
Run
  • 26m 46s
  • 4 miles
  • 06m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Decent run off the bike since I have done no tempo work or anything over z2 in training so far this year. Was able to pass Ed on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Train more by racing more.
Transition 1
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

The volunteer at the turn told me to get off my bie at the mat. I ran from there in my socks. I could have ridden all the way in.
What would you do differently?:

Not listen to the dumb volunteer.
Bike
  • 27m 2s
  • 10.8 miles
  • 23.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Good race pace effort on the bike. Fastest in the Agegroup so I will take it.
What would you do differently?:

I need to ride more and train at z3-4 to gain higher speed at a lower HR.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank beer and hung out with everyone.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training.

Event comments:

It was great to see all the BTer's out there and the all the podiums by the BTer's. Skarl 1st agegroup, Dime 1st agegroup, Me 2nd agegroup, kenny 3rd agegroup. Nice to meet Freckleface and see Bert, Tyra, Scott, Ray, Mtnskibum, katie, susan and all the other folks doing a fun winter race on a beauty of a spring day.
Got lots of hammer products- whole box of electrolyte packets, big bottle of hammer gel, hammer gel flask, racing underground hat! Great prizes.
