Pre-race routine:

Up around 7 and had a half-cup of coffee because I forgot to get more at the store...oops! Had a whole grain bagel from Panera for breakfast, my fav! Dave and I took our time getting ready for the race cuz it wasn't too far from the house. We did, however, leave enough time to stop for a coffee at Starbucks...little extra caffeene for energy.
Event warmup:

Walking from the car to the registration desk, back to the car then a jog to the start area. It was actually snowing when we got there!

Comments:

Rolling hills my foot! Those were some monsters! The scenery was nice but it felt like the wind was always in my face. Oh well, still a good run overall.
What would you do differently?:

I think that I could have pushed a little harder toward the end. I was being safe but I could have opened it up a little sooner during the last mile or so.
Post race
Warm down:

Slow walking and water. Oh, and a strong Margarita and mexican food at our favorite place. It did wonders!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hills and wind

Event comments:

I'm glad that is over! It gives me some hope for the Platte River Half though. I'm gonna kick my last year's time in the butt!

Performance: Good
Course: PPRRun.org says: "Rolling hills on dirt and paved roads. Elevation is about 7000 feet. Most of the course is within the forested area of Black Forest, thus there is some protection from any wind. The exception to this at the latter miles of the 20K course, which is more exposed. There are some terrific views of the Pikes Peak and the Front Range mountains."
