Run
Comments: My goal was to go under 2:00:00. Last year, this was my first half and I finished in 2:10:01. I really wanted to prove to myself that my training was paying off. The run went really well. I think that running it last year helped in knowing what to expect and planning for that monster of a hill at the end. Last year I had to walk on it and kicked myslef when I figured out how close to the finish it was. This year, that hill was mine and I got my revenge. I was able to expect it and save just a little to get over it. The cheers from Dave, high five from Dime and Katie running the finish with me allowed me to finish with a smile and keep it together enough to not look like I was about to die! Thanks guys! What would you do differently?: Warm up a bit more. Especially since it was chilly at the start. Post race
Warm down: Water and not enough stretching...bad idea...I'll get some in before bed to hopefully keep the tightness down for tomorrow. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not too much...my knees started acting up around mile 9 and by mile 12, there were a few times that I really had to focus my goal though. Event comments: Thanks to my awosme husband as my support crew and to my buds for coming out to cheer! That was great! Good to see the BT'ers out there...always a pleasure everyone. ;-) Last updated: 2008-02-17 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:30 and had some coffee, cereal and a big glass of water. I had put most of my gear together the night before so I could take my time in the morning. Left the house around 7 with a caravan of cars...another racer and some spectators.
Got to the race start about 8:10 and jogged to the packet pick-up area to get my number and shirt. When I got back to the car, I finished getting ready with HRM, Garmin, and shoes then did a few more easy jogs to get warm...it was a little chilly at the start but luckily I had an amazing support crew (Dave) to take my long sleeve right before race start.
