Swim
Comments: For the second year in a row, not sure why I was this slow. The pool does not convert to OWS, I just need to do more OWS, plain and simple. My googles did fog hard and after the turn I injested 1/2 the lake, not good. What would you do differently?: More OWS Transition 1
Comments: It was just ok, I took too much time with the shoes and socks - other than that it was ok What would you do differently?: It was ok, I need to rid myself of socks at some point. Bike
Comments: Good bike, I wanted to have running legs so I hit it just right, I like what I did here. What would you do differently?: Nada. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition again, no complaints. What would you do differently?: Nada Run
Comments: I kicked it "old school" in the run, I did a really good job here. 4th in my AG out of 53, 21st for the whole race - my running has been great this year. This was a hilly run, so it was challenging from that perspective, not as bad as Pokagon though... If I can just get my swim up there to match... What would you do differently?: are you kidding? Post race
Warm down: Drinking Gatorade and hanging out with friends, co-workers and folks I met. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim, I swam like a paper weight coated in lead. Event comments: Better than last year, better run course and more drink stations. This is a great local race with lots of competition. Last updated: 2008-02-17 12:00 AM

had some banana bread, light stretching, 1/2 a Clif Bar, one Gu, swam about 20 yrds until they kicked me out of the lake (grrr.), tried to invent a "green" low cost energy solution to gasoline.. still working on that.
not much, by the time they closed the lake all I could do was socialize and hang until the start.
