Run
Comments: Easy, no problems. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Learned to layout my things better and had no problems getting my shoes on. Forgot that running in clips feels weird. I have not learned to get on my bike with a running start and start with the shoes on the pedals, so I didn't do that. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: There was some fierce winds. Steady north wind of 15 MPH with gusts up to 20 MPH. Wind picked up speed as the race went on. The wind was bad enough that you had to counter-steer during the parts in the cross winds just to stay on the course. The worst part was that the uphill portion was into the head wind. This proved to be the toughest part. The downhill portion had a tailwind, and I was able to get up to 27 MPH. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: I saved a ton of time by using Yankz laces. I didn't have to sit around and tie my shoes. I still can't get out of my bike shoes without unclipping, so I didn't do that. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I was running out of breath, but finished strong on a sprint like I always try to do. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Just walked around and stretched out my legs while drinking my chocolate milk for recovery and nibbling on a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: The damn wind. Event comments: It was fun and unique racing at the Speedway. Would definitely come back again. Last updated: 2008-02-17 12:00 AM

Woke up early and ate some oatmeal and started drinking water. I packed all my gear the night before as I learned that doing it the morning of leads to forgetting things.
None, just stayed warm till the sun came up.
