Pre-race routine:

Huh? routine? This was my first race in 3.5 years, so I don't have a routine per se. I did have a cup of coffee, a cup of yogurt, and two fig newtons along with 3/4 of a bottle of water. Drove in to town and picked up my number about an 1:10 before the race, met up with JJCraig, figured out what clothes to wear.

Comments:

I thought this was a good race to get into the sport again. It was great to meet up with JJCraig, I thought our ability was fairly well matched (something I hadn't considered before the race) and I thought it was good that we could push/pace each other throughout the race.
What would you do differently?:

Dressed a little less. Overall it wasn't bad, but I think I would've been fine with one less layer up top, and a lighter hat (but what the hell, it was my Seahawks hat).

I should've been hydrating much earlier in the week. It wasn't until last night I realized I hadn't been drinking like I should've.

Event comments:

I liked the race overall. I'm not sure why there were drink stations for a 5 mile race though. All in all, I'm really glad I ran!
