Swim
  • 08m 54s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim performance is again below par, but then again, I haven't been swimming much. I need to get to the pool more.

Swim time was ended at the end of T1.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I had an excellent T-1 and passed most of the swimmers that had beaten me out of the pool. Transition was timed at the end of T-1 making my swim time compared to others look really good.
Bike
  • 40m 33s
  • 14.9 miles
  • 22.05 mile/hr
Comments:

Although I hadn't realized it, I had passed dang near all the swimmers that had smoked me in the pool in T-1. I became pretty dejected after passing only two from my wave on the first loop, both in the first 3 miles. I didn't pass the last person in our wave until the second lap.

Another tough wind blew me around pretty good with the disk. If I can handle these last two races with the disk, I can probably count on always using the disk.
What would you do differently?:

While this bike ride was better than Chain of Lakes, I need to spend some more personal time with my bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Good transition
Run
  • 22m 57s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

I was pretty hatched. The bike really took a ton of spunk out of me. The slow run was due to a lack of bike fitness.

7:33 170
What would you do differently?:

Bike more.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with family and friends.

Perspective on my first win.
-very few participants.
-two other triathlons this weekend (although I did beat the winner of one of the other races earlier this year) as well as a popular marathon.
-local stud was injured and didn't participate.
-principle competition could have had a better day.
-sure was fun, though, hearing my name as the overall winner.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

This race has the potential to be a great early season tune up. The venue, course and organization are all wonderful.
