Swim
Comments: It was kind of a brutal race start. So, rather than get in the mix of it, I slowed up a bit. I started drafting off that pack, and then realized that the pace was too slow. So, I swam around the group. I didn't really get to clear water until 2/3rds of the swim was done. My bad. I did ride a couple of the waves in. It was choppy out there. What would you do differently?: I will get in there next time. Then, I will relax and swim. I will not pound the water. Transition 1
Comments: Nothin' much. It was busy. There was enough room to move around. It was actually a fun transition. Strange, I know. Bike
Comments: This was a fun ride. I was leap-frogging with a friend the entire time. We had a great time egging each other on. I think that I could have given it a little more, but not much. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: No complaints on this one. Tried to put on my socks, and then decided against it. Luckily, it didn't come back to haunt me. What would you do differently?: Don't even bother with the socks. Run
Comments: I'm proud of this run. I pushed myself. I'm not a runner by any stretch of the imagination. So, I kept repeating to myself throughout the run, "you can run...I'm going to run." I even mustered up the energy to sprint to the end, and tied with a girl who had passed me earlier. What would you do differently?: Smiled more? Post race
Warm down: Ate and talked. Stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think that I'm learning how to push myself more. I need to do that more in training. Event comments: This was a great, flat course. It was a fun way to start the season. Last updated: 2008-02-19 12:00 AM

Got up. Got dressed. Ate my English muffin, peanut butter, honey, and banana. Drove to the race site. Tried to find a good song on the radio station the whole way there, but was not successful.
Nothing. Set up my transition. Warmed up my mouth chatting.
