Pre-race routine:

stopped in Andover to drop off the dog at the IL's house. sang super cheesy music loudly in the car, got numbers, peed 70 times.
Event warmup:

walked around a little and tried to get my lungs to adapt to the cold air. used my albuterol. tried to figure out exactly where the start line was.

Comments:

well, didn't hear a gun or an announcement... just noticed the pack was off and running. hit my watch where I thought the start line was... my chip time will probably be longer but I'm going by my watch time here. I did an excellent job pacing... ran the whole way, first mile 11:54, miles two and three were both 11:30 on the nose. stayed well within myself on the big hill, then started pushing a little on the last bit of the hill, zipped down the hill, and managed to hold on the rest of the race. not a good day for my lungs with the cold, but overall I managed to seriously break my stretch goal (base goal: sub 40. stretch goal: 36 min)
What would you do differently?:

um, get a new serevent script for my asthma.
Post race
Warm down:

walked back and forth in the non-clogged portion of the tiny finisher's chute. managed to finally get my chip cut off, found out that they were out of finisher's medals (they promised to mail), pushed around the random standers, left the chute, found out that there was no water anywhere (although there was beer), decided with the husband to just head out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I've been running seriously for three weeks. Not complaining at all here.

Event comments:

they need to solve the finish line issue, and get water out there for the non-speedy runners. I'm used to a lack of good food, but honestly, I expect water, even if it's cold out.
