Swim
Comments: Start was pretty crazy...nothing compared to that of my first tri. I got bumped, kicked, and hit, several times through the first 200m. Also during the first 200m I had difficulties breathing, having to do so every stroke. The last 200 I was able to calm down and breath every third stroke. My exit out of the water was very good, and my cap and goggles were removed with ease. What would you do differently?: I still think that I simply need to compete in more triathlons as I'll become more accustomed to the OWS and the bumping and hitting and whatnot that can occur. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was great. I entered T1 with my cap and goggles already off. Found my transition spot easily. Dipped my feet in water, then put on the bike shoes, glasses, and helmet. Took my bike off the stand and I was gone! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Get Faster. Bike
Comments: Great Great Bike! I was very familiar with this course, as its only 10 minutes from my house so I have ridden it many times before. After the swim a group of us began the bike together and I noticed that two of them were in my AG, so I work to make sure that I kept pace with them and in doing so we all finished up together. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Get Faster Transition 2
Comments: Great Great T2. Hooped of the bike well and ran down to my transition spot. Racked the bike, took off my helmet, on the running shoes went, grabbed my number and off I went! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Get Faster! Run
Comments: Excellent Run! After exciting T2 I decided to see if I could break away from the group I was in when entering and exiting T2. I did exactly that by pushing the pace and dropped all of them. Kept myself cool by dumping water over my head at the water stops. Two guys in my AG were coming up on my fast in the final 800m, I simply choose to push myself as hard as I could so that they didn't pass me! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Get Faster! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: Excellent Excellent race for me today! Obviously I only have one other race to compare it to but still, a 6 minute difference is big! Wow! Last updated: 2008-02-19 12:00 AM

Woke up 3 hours before the race, ate peaches and cream oatmeal along with 20 onz of water. After finishing breakfast, I took a shower to wake up a little more. At 6 am I left the house and headed to the race, which was only 10 minutes down the road.
45 minutes prior to the race I began my warmup, running for 10 minutes, then biking for ten minutes. Each very light with a few pickups to loosen up my legs. After the pre race meeting, I put the swim cap and googles on, walked into the water and did a short swim. Then it was time to race!
