 Swim
Comments: I had dreaded the swim becuase my last (and only other) tri the swim was terrible because I felt panicked & sighted WAY too often. This time was great. There were enough people that I was able to draft from time to time & I really enjoyed the whole swim. What would you do differently?: Not stress about it so much beforehand  Transition 1
Comments: Transition time is combined with swim/bike times. Overall it went pretty well. I fumbled over my helmet strap for far too long. What would you do differently?: Nothing  Bike
Comments: Considering the wet weather & my lack of ckill on the bike, I didn't push it too much. I still wear my joggers on the bike & they slipped around a lot. I really didn't want to crash so didn't push, especially on the downhills What would you do differently?: Push a bit harder Transition 2
Comments: Time combined with bike/run What would you do differently?: Nothing. The only advantage of wearing joggers on the bike is not to have to change shoes in T2!  Run
Comments: A challenging run, even included steps! It was really interesting though because it went from road to offroad to beach. I dreaded the beach, knowing there was 1km of sand at the end. But when I got to it it was hard sand & probably the easiest part of the whole run! I even ran a few people down on the beach. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Fed the baby again! What limited your ability to perform faster: Being new. Not being confident on the bike. Not drinking on the bike. Event comments: Loved it & will definitely be back next year to smash this years time! Last updated: 2008-02-20 12:00 AM

Fed the baby, got dressed & had muesli for breakfast. Settled my 2 year old & off with friends for a lift to the race.
Nothing. I poured while we were setting up. There were a lot of people talking of pulling out. I haven't done any training on the bike in the rain so I was very nervous about that. But just as we walked down to the beach the rain pretty much stopped.
