5:45AM Arrive at race. Drank sport drink racked bike and set-up gear

Could of pushed harder, not sure how I was going to do being 1st time. Sighting was good, started up front held tight leftside.

Calf pull at mile 1, walked about 1/8mile, then pushed through the rest of the run.
I AM SURE THAT I COULD HAVE FINISED THE RUN IN ABOUT 32:00MIN IF NOT INJURED
What would you do differently?:

Give myself more time to recover from prior calf injury, Make sure that I was injury free.

Calf muscle pull, reacuring injury. not fully healed injury. 6 weeks out pulled muscle during training run in CT.

Event comments:

Will retune next year. Was a hard race for 1st timer.
