Swim
Comments: The plan was to cruise the swim. SO that is what I did. So I wanted to be 13 minutes on the swim. I got pretty damn close. Even with me haulin ass up the hill to T1. The swim was good. My arms felt heavy but I just kept swimming. It was a bit cold so that may have played a part in it. Got a few knocks at first but then It opened up and I was able to swim free without being impeded. Pretty damn good swim. Last year I was 13:33. So almost 30 seconds faster. What would you do differently?: Nothing! Transition 1
Comments: 4th fastest in the agegroup.Felt fast! Had only a bit of trouble getting out of the wetsuit. Heels were a problem so I stepped on the other leg and it came off. Getting my feet in the shoes was not the best but I got it done. What would you do differently?: Just need some more races to practice. Bike
Comments: So the plan was to not go 100% on this. Mike wanted me to go about 90%. So I took it easy out of T1 and passed some players. Cooper was one of them. Then some dude and I played tag the entire ride. Then at mile 1 some dude in my agegroup went flyin by me. I let him go. Never saw him again. So I guess he beat me. Pushed a bit going down 36 to gap Cooper. Kept it steady on Neva and 63rd. No one passing me so I was good. Got on the diaganol, and the guy I was playin tag with passes me and says, let's get on it. I let him go and jsut kept him in sight. Pushed again going downhill into T2. Almost caught the guy I was playing tag with on the bike but passsed him in T2 and never saw him again. A bit slower than last year 41:46. So about 20 seconds slower than last year. I needed it on the run so it worked out! What would you do differently?: nothing, good strategy, just stayed steady. Transition 2
Comments: Fastest in the Age group! What would you do differently?: Nothing! Run
Comments: Started out just moving the feet at a good cadence. Then just kept it steady ont he dirt section on the way out. I wanted to see where everyone was coming back. The goal was to negative split. We did have a bit of a head wind going out so I knew I needed to wait to pick it up. Turned and missed the lap button on the watch I guess. No data. Picked it up and saw Cooper first, then Dime and a few others. Kept it strong and picked people off. No one passed me today on the run. I was very happy. Caught Ben Kuster at mile 2.5 and jsut blew by him so He haad nothing to respond with. I beat him by 15 seconds. All in all a good run. Tool off 10 seconds here from last year. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: /Beer ans chatting with all the BT'ers What limited your ability to perform faster: Not sure. Event comments: Just a great race all around. SO good to see all the Bt'ers cheering and signing the poster for Stacie and just having a good time at a Triathlon! Perfect weather as well. The only other thing I wanted was to podium! Damn close. Faast dudes out there. I need to remember my main goal in IMAZ. So I am sticking to the plan! Thanks Mr. Ricci. Well planned. I beat last years time by 30 seconds. I wanted 1 minute but I will take it. Looked back at the results and I was bumped up to 4th. I knew I was 4th all along. Somebody must have screwed something up. Last updated: 2008-02-22 12:00 AM

got up at 3:45. I was lucky that I woke up to look at my watch. I had set the alarm on 4:30. Why I don't know! Got Michele up and ate 1 waffle with Peanut butter and a protein fruit shake. Not real hungry. Loaded up and headed to Boulder.
Ran for 13 minutes and rode for 10 minutes with some pick ups. Swam for about 10 minutes to get acclimated to the cold.
