Pre-race routine:

Got up early and had a cup of coffee and cereal/bananna. Looked outside and saw the blowing snow, and knew it was gonna be a hard day of racing.
Event warmup:

Jogged a half mile. Stretched a little bit.

Comments:

This was a brutal day. The course description said "rolling hills", but honestly they were full on climbs. I can't recall any flat sections it was either up or down. The wind was really tough. I managed to get into a good group of guys including Kevin Noleen, Larry Dewitt, and a few other guys. We all took our turns at the front. The shelter helped alot or at least mentally. I brought a gel with me, but didn't take it. Didn't take any water on the course either. I should have. The last couple of miles were pretty punishing.
What would you do differently?:

Take in the gel and get some water in me during the race
Post race
Warm down:

Ran back out a few miles and came in with Megan. She did awesome!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure here. I was pretty sick this week, but I came in well ahead of the guys I normally come in with. So I don't know if I can use that as an excuse. The hills hurt. The wind hurt. But I enjoyed the race.

Event comments:

I wanted to do this race just to get the miles in, but fell into a good pace and went pretty hard. Even though it was a seriously tough day out I had a blast.

Performance: Good
Course: PPRRun.org says: "Rolling hills on dirt and paved roads. Elevation is about 7000 feet. Most of the course is within the forested area of Black Forest, thus there is some protection from any wind. The exception to this at the latter miles of the 20K course, which is more exposed. There are some terrific views of the Pikes Peak and the Front Range mountains
