Pre-race routine:

Up too early! Shower, ate, dressed then got lazy Dylan up. Went to the Dome!
Event warmup:

Walked around and did the porti potti line shuffle. The dome was open. It was the first time in years that we could go in and use their facilities. It was weird being inside with the old hurricane memories.
We did go look for other BTers and didn't see them. Sorry!

Comments:

Walked the first 11 miles with BEAR. This was cool!!! We pushed each other on, he'd go fast a while, then I would go fast for a while. I really had enough at mile 7 :(. I guess I really should have trained!!!

BEAR had several people call out to him along the route which was cool. Then around mile 9, we heard a loud John Hebert. It was a crazy childhood friend of his. It's a small world.

BEAR decided to run the last 2.2 miles in. I slowed down, I did jog a couple of times. BEAR and Dylan were waiting near the finish area. I threw Dylan my heavy fanny pack and jogged in.

AHHH! Crossed the finish line, got my picture taken, got a card-NOT MEDAL-saying we'll mail your medal in 6-8 weeks. Then went to get my chip cut off by a local football player and NO CHIP!!! DAMNIT!!!!!!!

Just sent a note to the race directors! I hope I get my medal. The tie wrap broke on my shoe, BUT no chip!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!

I emailed the race director, they put my time up. That was sweet! :):):)

13:20, 14:55, 12:36, 14:16, 14:20, 14:21, 14:14, 15:34 (cool sag stop, so we enjoyed the vittles), 14:25, 14:15, 14:06, 14:49, 14:39, 3:05.
What would you do differently?:

The big T!!!!

TRAIN ANGEL TRAIN!!!!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked up the ramp and ate subway sandwiches, red beans and rice, and bananas. Drank diet coke and water.

(A hurting young fellow was attempting to sit next to the Dome on shaky legs. I offered to get him food and drink. He said he'd go later. We went get more and I did bring him goodies back. Well, he'd left for beans and rice. He returned and sat slowly, so I fed him twice. It was his first marathon and he was suffering. I felt so sorry for him. I felt his pain.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

Dylan finished in 2:09 but now he's in PAIN!!!
BEAR finished in 2:59. He'd hoped to finish in under 3 hours and he did!

GEAUX BEARS!!! I am proud of you both!

Traveled home and picked up the boys from Ma and Pa. They had a good weekend camping.

We missed the BT Gang!!! Laurie you would have enjoyed this half! :):):)
