Swim
What would you do differently?: Warm up longer. Need to get in the water for more time. Transition 1
Comments: We had to run about 75 yards to the Transition area from the swim. I was very out of breath and mostly walked... What would you do differently?: Need to jog all the way to the transition area. Recover on the bike. Also, can practice my transitions.. Bike
What would you do differently?: Nothing really. I have a bike that is not as efficient as others had. Need a road bike to really increase times.. Transition 2
Comments: Better on the Transition. Racked bike, grabbed my running hat & sunglasses. I already had my running shoes on, since I used them on the bike.. What would you do differently?: Know my rack better... Run
Comments: End of the race. I was really felling the effects of endurance racing. But I established a good pace. Kept that pace up and actually increased the speed near the end. (didn't Bonk!!!) What would you do differently?: Just need to train better on cardio. My run time was pretty good compared to what I've been doing in training. Post race
Warm down: None really, 10 minutes of streching. I will do a recovery spin tomorrow and a massage on Monday...Swim recovery on Tuesday. What limited your ability to perform faster: My fitness. I have only trained for 2.5 months. I need to continue to build on the base of fitness I have established. Event comments: A wonderful first time race. Great enthusiasm from all the volenteers. Very well organized. While this is my first race, I was very impressed with it considering it hosted 980 contestants in such a small area.. Last updated: 2008-02-25 12:00 AM
