Swim
Comments: When they finally put us in the water i lined up on the left hand side right at the front. When the gun went off it was madness, people went out hard so I kicked to get ahead of everyone and by the time I hit the turn around things had thinned out a little. Made the turn and then looked up oops off course a little corrected mysef and then kicked hard to get to shore. What would you do differently?: Go out a little faster and sight better Transition 1
Comments: Not a bad transition What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Started out for the bike and started in the small gear to spin and get the legs used to riding. Got passed by a few of the local pros haulin A$$ goin up the first hill. Once I crested I switched to the big ring and started to hammer a little. About half way through and whatya know Paul comes by and I try and stay with him but he drops me just before the secondto last turn, but I did keep him in sight. The last section on the access road was pretty sweet dwonhill with a tailwind was haulin on that part!! What would you do differently?: Go out a little easier and save some more for the end. Transition 2
Comments: Not a bad T2 What would you do differently?: Maybe lose the socks for such a short race Run
Comments: After T2 I headed out and felt good going out, about 3/4 of the way down to the turn around I caught a guy that passed me on the bike, saw Brandon and Patrick just haulin. Hit the turn around and it sure looked like a long mile back. Made it to the last part and gave it everything I had left. What would you do differently?: Run Harder Post race
Warm down: Walked around and drank some water, chatted with some folks and enjoyed the post race festivities. Got some work done by the ART folks. Then grabbed the bike and packed it up for the House. What limited your ability to perform faster: Had a fairly heavy training week prior to the race, but I am happy with the results. Time to get myself ready for Captex. Event comments: Another great race hosted by Jack and Adam's. There is no other way to put it!! Last updated: 2008-02-25 12:00 AM

Woke up ar 0245 and ate some oatmeal and a bagle with peanut butter. Took a quick shower to wake up and made some coffee, loaded the jeep and made the 1.5 hour trek to New Braunfels. The drive was not too bad not too many people on the road and I got there fairly early.
Parked and grabbed the bike and headed towards transition. They had not opened it yet so that was a good sign, waited in line got body marked and then went in. Hmmm they changed the rack setup from last year they were broken down by wave two racks right near bike out for the open wave...sweet. Got a spot right at the end of the second rack and set up transition, went and picked up my chip then did a double check of everything. Saw Todde and talked with him for a few bfore going out to run on the course. Ran about three quarters of the mile out and then turned around, dropped off the shoes in tranny and headed for the lake. Swam out to the turn around and back when they called everyone in for the pre-race.
