Run
Comments: Started out in the back, and stayed there. I read last years results and saw that I was in for some heavy competition. Nice run, no wind, not to cold, dressed up correctly for the climate. Ran my own pace, and felt good. The sun came out at the end of the run. (and so did the wind) What would you do differently?: Nothing (but train more so I can race faster) Transition 1
Comments: Didn't try to do a speed change, I guess than my HR was to high to try. What would you do differently?: Learn to jump on bike, not that I would gain much time, but it will make me feel better Bike
Comments: I knew that I needed to keep my cadence high. My goal was to avg around 90. Started out up hill, but felt strong. The first part was with tail wind and I was going fast but not to fast. I gained several positions during the first lap. The second half of the lap was in head wind and it slowed my down. Lost a couple of places, as I hate head wind. It was a non draft competition, but apparently someone didn't take notice and drafted in the head wind. I kept the 10m, as I was only racing against my self. On the second lap I did again go fast in the tail wind, and "suffered" in the last part. The wind increased during bike leg and was strong in the end. Backed off a bit for the last km or so What would you do differently?: Nothing, I raced to my ability Get better/stronger in head wind/up hill Transition 2
Comments: An ok transition What would you do differently?: Learn to me more "swift" Run
Comments: As I haven't done much change training lately is was a bit afraid of the first km. Started out "slowly", but found out I was as fast as the first run. After 2 km I felt my hips, after the hard bike leg. Ran my own pace the rest of the race and lost a position 1 km before the finish line What would you do differently?: Nothing, but I need to get more "guts". I have a tendency to slow down in the end of the race when it starts to get tough. Post race
Warm down: Not needed, had a banana and something to drink What limited your ability to perform faster: The wind cost a bit, but I just need to train more Event comments: Good race, winning time 1:42:03 When it's to cold for triathlon, duathlon is a fine substitute. Will try duathlon again, maybe this race next year Last updated: 2008-02-28 12:00 AM
